LÁZARO CÁRDENAS PLANT

Petróleos Mexicanos’ (Pemex) Lazaro Cardenas refinery is located in Minatitlan, Veracruz, Mexico. Built in 1906, it is the oldest refinery in the country.

The modernisation of the refinery was launched in 2003, it included construction of 11 processing plants and associated facilities. The refinery now consists of 27 plants covering an area of more than 800ha.

Beginning 2019 LUXSOLAR has provided for this plant a complete AWL system composed by MIOL-B TWIN beacons (2.000cd red flashing during night) and LIOL-B TWIN beacons (32cd red steady burning during night). The beacons used for this project are TWIN beacons: beacons with a redundant system, that can allow the beacon work also in case of failure of the main circuit. The advantage of LUXSOLAR's TWIN beacons consist in the technology used: our system infacts allows to have two emergency circuits inside one light fixture only, making obsolete the old double-head beacons; this solution can be translated into an economical and space saving.
